Former Polish bodybuilder turned mixed martial artist Mariusz Pudzianowski (10-5, 1NC) is set to return to the MMA cage at KSW 39, and it will be against a fellow bodybuilder in Tyberiuz Kowalczyk (3-0). The two are set to square off in a three round contest at the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw, Poland on May 27.

Pudzianowski, more popularly known as “Pudzian” or “Dominator”, is a heavyweight contender who has previously won five World’s Strongest Man titles, which is a Guinness World Record. In 2009 however, Pudzianowski made the decision to try his hand at MMA.

The Polish legend was successful in his MMA debut, forcing opponent Marcin Najman to surrender to punches. Since then, Pudzianowski has faced the likes of Tim Sylvia, Bob Sapp and Rolles Gracie.

His opponent, Kowalczyk is also a famous Polish bodybuilder who decided to transition to fighting. Kowalczyk sports an unblemished record with each of his every victories ending in a spectacular finish.

But the story here is obviously Pudzianowski who has delighted Polish MMA fans for years now with his amazing display of dominance inside the MMA cage. Lumbering around at over 260 pounds and standing at 6-feet-1, Pudzianowski is a beast of a man.

He is Also a Tremendous Mixed Martial Arts Fighter

Yet although he does possess insane knockout power, Pudzianowski is also adept at grappling. Of Pudzianowski’s 10 total victories, 2 of which have come by submission and 4 by knockout.

Pudzianowski’s fights are exciting to say the least. And it’s just magnificent to see a former bodybuilder his size moving so gracefully across the cage.

The “Dominator” is however in a sort of a slump as of late, winning only 2 of his last 4 bouts. But he’s coming off an impressive technical knockout victory over Pawel Mikolajuw last December.

Will Pudzianowski pull off another crazy finish? Only time will tell. And Tyberiuz Kowalczyk for sure won’t just take it lying down. It should be an intense matchup for however long it lasts.
