4. Ronda Rousey Regains Her Throne
This is the result the UFC wants.
Ronda Rousey is a star, and someone who translates into PPV buys. If she is the face of women’s MMA in the UFC, it means big money for the company. If she loses convincingly to a non-marketable fighter it means money lost.
Luckily at UFC 207, Rousey has a chance to regain all of her lost steam. A win at 207 wouldn’t erase her loss to Holly, but it would help a lot.
If Rousey wins she would have a slew of big-money rematch fights waiting for her. Fights against both Miesha Tate and Holly Holm (provided Holm can win a fight or two first) would both earn everyone involved big bonus cheques.
She’s going to need to come into her fight with Nunes with a good strategy for this to happen however, which is concerning considering the track record of her coaching staff.
