Mauro Ranallo vs. Enson Inoue

The PRIDE days in Japan were a wild time and Mauro Ranallo found himself getting swept up in the moment one night while partying in his co-commentator Bas Rutten’s hotel room along with a few other fighters.

Rutten offered Ranallo some Percocet painkillers and he ended up taking three, and it wasn’t long before they started to kick in.

At this hazy stage in the night, Ranallo thought it would be a good idea to go up to another fighter Enson Inoue and say he that he thought he could beat him in a fight and then start shadowboxing in front of him.

At first Inoue thought he was joking, but as he got closer, then punched his drink by mistake, he started to get more irritated and told him to lick it up.

The inebriated Ranallo obliged, but Inoue thought the commentator was mocking him, so he proceeded to stand on the back of his head, which sent him face first onto the carpet, breaking his glasses and leaving him with a bloody nose.

There was no ill will between the two afterwards and they even took a picture together, but Ranallo vowed never to take Percocet again.
