Errol Spence Jr. is one of the best fighters on the planet right now. The WBC and IBF welterweight champion is a phenomenal boxer. With a record of 26-0, Spence has had a lot of hype behind him and many hope that he will soon fight Terence Crawford to see who is the best welterweight on the planet.

However, Spence is lucky to be alive. In short, he crashed his white Ferrari in Houston, Texas, flipping the vehicle over several times. Incredibly, Spence should make a full recovery which is something the world can be grateful for. The man looks invincible in the cage, but he got a stark reminder of his mortality.

In short, Spence is a very lucky boy. Check out the crazy footage of the incident below. How on earth did he survive this carnage?

Lucky

In the clip above you can see Spence’s white Ferrari flipping over multiple times. The incident occurred in Dallas, Texas, at 3 am on Thursday 10 October. The vehicle was travelling at a high speed when Spence lost control. The boxer wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. However, as the Ferrari had no roof, this may have saved his life.

The boxer went flying out of the car. Things could have been so much worse than they were. When something like this happens, the sport doesn’t matter. It really makes you think about what is important in life.

Statement

The boxer’s team has released a statement about their fighter’s condition. In short, he’s incredibly lucky to be alive. Spence didn’t suffer any life-threatening injuries. He broke several teeth and received lacerations to his face. Remarkably, he didn’t break any bones. In short, Spence should make a full recovery. The statement said:

“Spence is awake and responding and his condition is listed as stable. He did not sustain any broken bones or fractures but has some facial lacerations. He is expected to make a full recovery. He is currently resting with his family by his side.

They want to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes and are extremely grateful to the Dallas first responders who rushed to the scene to attend to Errol after the accident and the doctors who are taking care of him at the hospital.”

Report

A Dallas Police department spokesperson made the following report. They revealed that the Ferrari was speeding at the time of the incident and that Spence was not wearing a seatbelt. Spence went flying out of the vehicle. Fortunately, there was no traffic at the time of the incident. The statement said:

“At 2:53am a Ferrari travelling at a high rate of speed northbound in the 500 S. Riverfront Blvd. The Ferrari veered left over the centre median onto the southbound lanes and flipped multiple times ejecting the driver who was not wearing a seat belt. The cause of the accident is undetermined at this time.”

Let’s hope the champion makes a full recovery and can resume his normal life. The most important thing is that he’s there for his wife and two kids.
