8. Josh Grispi
When the UFC and WEC merged Josh Grispi was considered one of the top featherweights coming into the promotion, and at one point was scheduled to face Jose Aldo in the first ever title match for the division at UFC 125. Aldo had to pull out of that fight and Grispi ended up losing to Dustin Poirier and falling out of the title picture. Grispi would end up going 0-4 in the UFC, but that’s the least of his concerns.
Grispi was arrested in August of 2014 and held without bail on multiple charges of assaulting his wife, and the details were gruesome. According to police Grispi at one point had commanded his dogs to attack his wife. One police officer referred to it as the worst case of domestic violence he had ever seen. He is still awaiting trial.
Josh and his wife appeared on an episode of Dr. Phil a few months later.
