4. Thiago Silva
Thiago Silva was charged with a whole bunch of stuff, but the judge through it all out. Silva was accused of threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend and the owner of a gym that was now dating her. His ex alleges that Silva sent text messages promising to kill her and then showed up at the jiu-jitsu gym her new boyfriend owned with a gun. Silva allegedly threatened to shoot everyone at the gym before heading back to his townhouse. From there the SWAT team had to come in to arrest him.
Somehow all the charges got dropped and the UFC resigned Silva, but it didn’t last. Not long after the promotion announced Silva was returning to the company they posted the following statement on their website:
“Thiago Silva was released from his UFC contract on Feb. 7 due to his arrest by police in South Florida. The charges against Silva were dropped by the Broward County District Attorney’s office and Silva was re-signed to the UFC earlier this month. Based on new information received today in the form of video and audio evidence, Silva has been terminated from his UFC contract.”
