Mixed martial arts has had its fair share of suspicious fights. Whether these were fights where one fighter was paid to take a dive, the judge’s awarded a questionable decision or the match-making was suspect enough that it became clear business interests had trumped sporting ones.
The most notable example of this is the Pride organization, which produced some epic fights, but also some very suspicious ones. Names like Gary Goodrich and Rampage Jackson have publicly stated they were offered money to lose fights in Pride, and that they believe many of the tournaments and bouts were fixed.
While Pride might be the most obvious example, most fighting organizations have been accused of match-fixing at one time or another.
