Alex Pereira is expressing support for Dillon Danis, who is trying to get UFC’s attention to give him a contract.
El Jefe was released by Bellator in October, making him a free agent. Days prior to the announcement of his release, Dillon fought Jake Paul in a boxing match but lost due to disqualification. During his training for this fight, he trained with Poatan, who praised his performance.
“I trained with him,” Poatan shared with reporters this week. “We did two nice sessions, one before (my Jan) Blachowicz fight, which was MMA training, and another one for this fight that he had with Logan. First, we did the MMA session. I could see that he is a very talented kid. We had two nice sessions. He’s a great guy, and the fact that he’s in negotiations with the UFC or trying to get in is awesome, and I’m very pumped for him. I root for him.”
MMA is no strange realm for Danis after making the transition in 2018. Under Bellator, the former MMA Welterweight fighter successfully won his two fights against Kyle Walker and Max Humphrey through submissions. With this, it is no surprise Poatan wants El Jefe under the same promotion company.
