In place of Julia Budd, PFL got Aspen Ladd to face Kayla Harrison in the 2023 PFL Championships. The bout is now booked on November 24.

PFL confirmed the removal of Budd from the bout, sharing that the fighter “refused to fulfill her contractual obligation.” With this, the Kayla Harrison vs. Aspen Ladd 150-pound catchweight bout is now booked and will officially be held at The Anthem in Washington.

This marks the continuous blooming career of the former UFC fighter in PFL. To recall, Ladd (11-4 MMA, 2-1 PFL) left UFC after losing against Pennington in April 2022. In her debut in PFL in November last year, Ladd defeated Budd. Her victory in the Women’s Featherweight division, however, was disrupted by Olena Kolesnyk in April. Ladd made a comeback by winning her bout against Karolina Sobek in June and is hoping to continue this with this upcoming fight at the 2023 PFL Championships.

This fight, nonetheless, won’t be easy for Ladd, with Harrison having a 15-1 MMA/14-1 PFL record. Harrison lost against Larissa Pacheco in a unanimous decision in November 2022, making this upcoming fight a huge deal for the MMA fighter and Olympic and world champion judoka. With this, after a long rest, it is certain that Harrison won’t make this bout easy for Ladd.
