Muay Thai legend Buakaw Banchamek returned to action last night (Friday January 9, 2016) watch the full fight video here….
Buakaw Banchamek, previously known as Buakaw Por. Pramuk aka Buakhao or Buakaw (White Lotus), is one of the most well known and celebrated Thai fighters in the spot’s history. He is most certainly one of very few legends that remain fighting, as the younger generation of Nak Muay are still blazing their trail through the sport.
Now, at 33 years of age, the Thai boxing legend has fought competitively for 20 years as a professional. He has over 236 wins and has only lost 25 times, which is an incredible feat by all accounts.
Much like his fellow Muay Thai legend Saenchai, Buakaw Banchamek has not been fighting the high level of competition he once did, but this is expected. If anyone has earned the right to continue fighting as long as he can, it’s Buakaw.
He returned to action at Kunlun Fight 36 in Shanghai, China, and it was a vintage display from the world’s most popular current Muay Thai legend. Facing off against local talent Hainan Liu, Buakaw saw his first competition of 2016.
For those that thought his days of exciting fights were over, you need to see this fight. The legend of Buakaw Banchamek lives on, and it was a quality display. Bringing back the good old days, Buakaw was on fire in front of the Chinese crowd, and it was truly a sight to behold.
