One Championship will hold one of its biggest events this year when it returns to Japan on June 28, featuring Superlek Kiatmoo9 and the country’s very own Takeru Segawa. Both fighters sport impressive records, and for them, the fight will likely end up with a KO win.

“The Natural Born Crusher” will be having his One Championship debut this weekend at ONE 165 against the promotion’s flyweight kickboxing world champion, Superlek. With over 100 wins in his entire career record, Superlek will be a tough opponent in the match. Under One, the Thai fighter only has one loss he received from Ilias Ennahachi in 2021 and boasts a current eight-fight winning streak. With all this, Superlek knows that finishing the Japanese fighter is possible.

“I want many people to come and watch this match,” Superlek said. “I think this match will end in a KO.”

Takeru, nonetheless, anticipates the same finish. Despite being a newcomer in the promotion, the 32-year-old is a three-division kickboxing world champion, making him as lethal as the Thai counterpart.

“He has been fighting in Muay Thai for a long time [before kickboxing], possessing Muay Thai techniques and strong kicks,” said Takeru. “In terms of the match content, I believe it will be a battle between my punches and Superlek’s kicks.

“Since this match has five rounds, it may become a match where one of us falls. I absolutely want to KO Superlek and win the belt.”
