Canelo Alvarez delivers once again on Cinco De Mayo, as he stops the undefeated British boxer, Billy Joe Saunders on his stool. It was a great fight from the start up until the end, Saunders even had his moments in the fight but once Canelo timed the uppercut it was the beginning of the end for Saunders.

In the fight, many thought that Canelo would run through Saunders but that was not the case. Saunders won some rounds and was also reading Canelo’s timing but unfortunately he could not continue fighting with only one eye especially someone who hits as hard as Canelo.

In the early parts of the fight, Canelo was investing with body shots but once Saunders’s has tasted the power of Canelo, he became confident that he could handle the power. Saunders fought with his hands down, which proved to be better for him in fighting Canelo.

Many criticized Saunders for quitting on his stool, but who could blame him? He literally fought with one eye, and the damage could have been worse than how it looked. At the end of the day, he put in the work and had a competitive fight, his health and safety is still the top priority.

As for Canelo, he only has one more belt in pursuit and the one holding right now is Caleb Plant. Although no official announcement yet, Plant is the next opponent Canelo called out, it will be on Plant’s side whether he accepts or not. It will undoubtedly be Plant’s biggest fight purse through out his career.
