After dominating Edson Barboza at UFC 219, Khabib Nurmagomedov went on the rampage against Conor McGregor. Now, typically of the brash Irishman, McGregor has responded with some seriously harsh words…

Entering the UFC Octagon for the first time in over a year, Khabib Nurmagomedov looked to extend his win streak to nine against Edson Barboza. UFC 219’s co-main event was a clear-cut wrestler vs. striker matchup.

Taking the Brazilian down at will, Nurmagomedov completely nullified Barboza’s dangerous striking. The man who had delivered so many brutal knockouts in the past was dragged into deep waters and held there.

‘The Eagle’ won a lopsided decision, with the win edging closer to a double-digit streak. Following the victory, Khabib had some interesting words to say about current lightweight champion Conor McGregor.

Rather than acknowledge ‘The Notorious’ as the boss, Nurmagomedov claimed interim champion Tony Ferguson was, in fact, the real champ at 155 pounds:

“McGregor is Not Champion”

“For me, Conor McGregor is not real champion, the real champion is Tony Ferguson,” Said Khabib Nurmagomedov at the UFC 219 post-fight press conference. “Conor McGregor only fought once at 155 pounds, he is champion because the UFC wanted it.”

Although McGregor had been out of action for exactly the same duration as Nurmagomedov until last Saturday, ‘The Eagle’ says he isn’t buying the Irishman’s championship status.

According to McGregor, he isn’t buying Nurmagomedov’s performance against Barboza. Check out what ‘The Notorious’ Tweeted just moments ago:

Ouch

Nurmagomedov had already offered to fight Ferguson and McGregor in the same night after beating Barboza:

If UFC approves, I’ll fight both Conor and Tony in the same night. Why not? I swear, this is no joke. When I’m injured, these guys talk. When I’m here, where are they?”

Speaking via LowkickMMA, ‘The Eagle’ says he has never had problems making weight. He also claims that three fights are his plan for 2018:

“I never have problem with weight cut,” Nurmagomedov said. “My problem, my number one enemy is injuries because I train so hard. I’m not training like other UFC fighters. I’m training so hard and my training partners know, my close people know about this, and the last couple of years I tried to change something and I think I do this very well and I changed a lot of things, but I never have problem with weight cut. Now I’m healthy. For this camp, I’m in my healthiest period ever, like everywhere I’m healthy, inside, outside, knees, back, everything is healthy and when I begin this training camp I feel good and this is why I make weight.

“When I’m healthy, I always make weight, but now I hope next year I’m gonna stay busy, stay healthy, no injuries, and I want to fight April, May, before Ramadan. After, I want to fight September and I want to fight December. This is my plan. I want to fight in 2018, three times.”
