Conor McGregor’s team mate fought in Nashville last night…

During one of the most unexpected main events of the year, unranked Artem Lobov headlined against Cub Swanson. Currently ranked in the top five, Swanson faced a lot of risk against ‘The Russian Hammer.’

Having the influence of McGregor behind him, and also a win over the prospect Teruto Ishihara, Lobov found himself in a lucrative position. Unfortunately for the SBG striker, it was not to be.

Swanson Tops Lobov

Albeit an exciting five-round war, the fight was eventually easy to score. Swanson landed more powerful strikes on a more regular basis, essentially shutting out Lobov. For his efforts and courage, Lobov should be praised.

He was certainly taking a big step up in competition, but faced the challenge relaxed and surprisingly well prepared. All said and done, Lobov doesn’t really lose any stock after his Nashville decision loss.

According to his team mate Conor McGregor, ‘The Russian Hammer’ deserves big props:

McGregor on Instagram:

That was a great fight. Proud of my brother Artem! What a ride it’s been for the Russian Hammer. In a career filled with ups and downs he has never backed down from anything. Nothing but love and respect always my brother ❤
