New footage of their sparring session has been released with audio…
Conor McGregor isn’t doing much to stop Paulie Malignaggi from challenging him. The UFC lightweight champion recently released further footage of him sparring with Paulie, and this one includes some interesting audio.
In the video, Conor and Paulie are acting friendly with one another. There was nothing between the two which indicated they would soon become rivals. In fact, Paulie does indeed seem to be helping Conor prepare for Floyd in the video. Whether he actually was or not is another story, however.
Since his brief time spent in the Conor camp, Paulie has been lobbying hard for a boxing bout with Conor. On the other hand, Conor has been heard telling his coaches he would love to get Paulie inside an MMA cage instead.
Dana White has said that it is unlikely he allows Conor to box again, but he’s also stated he’s not against the UFC promoting boxing either. Fans will just have to wait and see if this bout ever gets put together.
Conor McGregor vs. Manny Pacquiao
The sparring footage being released comes on the heels of Conor McGregor being challenged to a boxing match by Manny Pacquiao. Yesterday, Pacquiao posted the above picture to Instagram along with the following comments:
“Happy Thanksgiving! Stay fit my friend. #realboxingmatch #2018”
A well-promoted bout between Conor McGregor and Manny Pacquiao would be more lucrative than a grudge match with Paulie. The likelihood of either fight coming to be, however, is up for some debate.
Manny Pacquiao is a proven draw on PPV, though, so it would be unreasonable to think that Conor and his team aren’t entertaining the offer to some degree.
Yea lol I felt like I was boxing with my nephew for most of that sparring, talkin shit then Givin little tongue in cheek compliments it was actually cute to see how he tried so hard but he sucked so bad. I think my sarcasm offended him n he made Lil highlights n pics outta spite. https://t.co/43yMdfwJ7C

Will Dana White Let Conor Box?
Paulie has responded to the leaked sparring footage and is still keeping up his efforts to book a red-panty night by facing Conor. The fact remains, however, that Dana White has said Conor will be fighting MMA for the remainder of his career.
“Do you think people really want to see Conor vs. Paulie Malignaggi? People want to see Conor fight in MMA. That’s what they want to see. The Mayweather fight was a one-off, (expletive) crazy deal. This is where he belongs, this is the sport he’s in, this is the sport he excels in and this is where he’s a world champion. This is where he needs to be.”

The MMA world had become convinced that Conor McGregor vs. Tony Ferguson would main event UFC 219 but now it appears the fight is in jeopardy of never happening at all. According to Daniel Cormier, Ferguson’s team has been difficult to negotiate with.
The UFC had always said Conor would fight again in 2017 but now that doesn’t appear to be the case. In the current MMA climate, Conor facing Paulie is about as realistic as him facing anyone else.
