The boxing match we thought never happened kinda did…

Going back a few years, UFC president Dana White had a legitimate feud with Tito Ortiz. The former light-heavyweight champion is a brash character, to say the least. He once wore a shirt during a weigh-ins that said ‘Dana White is my bitch.’

Coming to a head in the following months, the beef very nearly became a boxing match. White challenged Ortiz to fight him, but ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ apparently no-showed the weigh-ins.

White Details Fist Fight With Ortiz

Although their boxing match never came to fruition, White and Ortiz did get it on once. According to the UFC president, they got carried away while roughing around on a private plane, and things got heated:

“We were gonna fight one time in a boxing match.” White told Conan. “I actually probably never told this story before. We were on a plane, myself, Tito Ortz, the Fertitta brothers and matchmaker Joe Silva. Tito and I were messing around, and he put me in this neck crank.”

Tito Refused TO Let Go

“I was tapping and he didn’t stop. You can seriously hurt somebody, especially as big and strong as Tito is. I just started blasting him in the ribs, then he let go and it was just a full blown fist fight. We were literally just taking off, and the Fertitta brothers had to jump in and break up the fight. We had to sit at opposite ends of the plane after that.”

White also revealed another kind of fighting he was used to. Claiming he was part of a ‘greedy’ staff at a hotel in Boston, White said he used to jump in the closet and ‘beat the sh*t’ out of his colleagues:

“When you get tips, people get greedy sometimes. We used to go to the bell closet and beat the sh*t out of each other to decided who got the tips.”
