Drew Dober finally released his statement after experiencing a loss to Renato Moicano at UFC Fight Night 235. While the fighter admitted that the result was not something he wanted, he stressed that he felt “no shame in putting everything on the line.”
Dober faced Moicano last weekend. Both fighters received bruises, with Moicano even getting a but leading to a literally bloody bout between the two. However, despite his best effort, Dober still lost via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) in the co-main event match. While this is bad news, the 35-year-old knows that it is just an event where his opponent managed to deliver a better performance.
In his Instagram post, the American fighter admitted making a mistake but congratulated Moicano.
“Not the outcome we wanted. In a game of inches, I made mistakes, and @renato_moicano_ufc was the better man tonight. Congratulations to him and his team. I feel no shame in putting everything on the line and testing my abilities against the best in the world.”
The statement reached Moicano, who, on the other hand, responded. After the fight, the two were seen making exchanges, and the good relationship between the two continued in the post. In his reply, Moicano even suggested a name for Dober to fight next: Paddy Pimblett.
“Im a huge fan…. On every interview I was saying that you are dangerous!!!
I want to see you fighting Paddy Pimblett next… huge respect for you thank you for the fight.”
