The legendary former Pride FC heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko returned to action in Japan last New Year’s Eve, after a three year retirement from the sport. Coming back under the Rizin FF banner, owned by the same man that ran Pride, his latest fight was disappointing to say the least.

Fighting the unknown and severely over matched Jaideep Singh, Fedor scored a simple and one sided TKO win by ground and pound. For fans of ‘The Last Emperor,’ it was both a let down, but also good to see the Russian Terminator return.

Another MMA hall of famer that’s been resharpening his teeth lately is Tito Ortiz. The former UFC light-heavyweight champion has been taking on some of the best fighters Bellator MMA has to offer, and has scored some good wins.

So the ruour mill has it that Ortiz and Emelianenko are being linked to a big fight in the summer under the Rizin FF promotion, which uses the old school Pride FC rules, check it out:

Although nothing has been confirmed, a Russian MMA media website, worldofmma.ru, is reporting that according to a source close to the Japanese RIZIN FF promotion, they are working on setting up a fight between ‘The Last Emperor’ and ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy,’ which would go down in July.
