Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz at UFC 200? I think the internet might explode if this fight happens…
UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has been linked to just about every big fight out there. He’s not even limited to MMA fights like Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 197 for the lightweight title. There’s a ton of potentially amazing fights for ‘The Notorious’ right now.
Beef with Floyd Mayweather is still brewing strong, Frankie Edgar is crying out for the next shot at the champ, even heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum recently called out the Irish star.
But there’s one fight we’ve all been clamouring to see.
Yep, you guessed it, ever since his last fight at UFC on FOX 17, Nate Diaz has been heavily linked to a fight with Conor McGregor. The younger of the infamous Stockton bad boys even said Dana White had promised him a shot at McGregor at one point.
His post fight interview after beating Michael Johnson was a vintage Diaz moment, as he went on a profanity riddled rant towards ‘The Notorious’ that went viral.
McGregor, fresh off his UFC 194 decimation of Jose Aldo, said Diaz and the rest of the UFC hoefuls would have to get on their knees and beg him, making the feud between him and Diaz even more intriguing.
With McGregor set to face Rafael dos Ankos for the lightweight championship on March 5th, there’s a chance the Irish striker will be looking to defend at least one of his titles at UFC 200, and the rumours are spreading that Pettis is gunning for that slot.
Nick Diaz recently implied Nate would be facing Anthony Pettis in the near future, so a win over ‘Showtime’ could well score Diaz the bargaining chip he needs to fight ‘The Notorious.’
