Andre Fili made his statement after his UFC Fight Night 236 loss to Dan Ige. Despite getting one last shot in the head despite already being on the floor, the fighter praised the opponent for his success.

Ige made a remarkable performance last weekend in his match against Fili in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 236. The bout between the two didn’t last long, which was evident in the fast movements of the two in the initial part of the first round as both looked for openings. However, Ige saw the perfect chance when Fili tried to send a pawing left jab, which he countered with a right hand. This immediately sent the opponent to the ground, and Ige made another right hand to secure his position before casually walking away to acknowledge his victory.

“Touchy,” in spite of his loss and getting an additional punch while on the ground, chose to be classy and accept his defeat. In his recent post on Instagram, the fighter playfully congratulated his opponent, who revealed that he was rushing the fight to get fast to his laboring wife at that time.

“Congrats to (Dan Ige) he’s truly one of the good guys in this sport, all the best to his family and new baby girl,” wrote Fili. “Thanks for the extra shot at the end, ya d*ckhead, I hope your hand hurts haha. Onward & upward.”

In the end, despite his loss, Fili showed a positive attitude and promised to make a comeback as a better fighter.

“Live by the sword, die by the sword,” the post reads. “Tough night at the office on Saturday. Got to take the wins and the losses as a man. I’ll learn from my mistakes, shake it off, make a few dumb jokes, and I will come back better- the way I always do. The amount of love I got from everyone is genuinely overwhelming – idk what I did to deserve so much but I’m immensely grateful for it and I will spend my energy trying to reciprocate and perpetuate it back out into the world.”
