2. Dominick Cruz Defends His Title
Another rumoured fight for UFC 207, would see Dominick Cruz defending the bantamweight championship.
White hinted at a possible co-main event involving Cruz being announced shortly. The interesting part is who Cruz might be fighting that night. While many speculated that Cruz’s next challenger would be Team Alpha Male’s Cody Garbrandt, that fight would have made more sense at UFC on Fox 22, which happens to be in Team Alpha Male’s hometown of Sacramento.
If Gardbrandt is not the next challenger for Cruz the other options are TJ Dillashaw or Bryan Caraway. Dillashaw has been very vocal about wanting a rematch with Cruz, and arguably has a better case to a title fight than Caraway.
It would be a big fight for Cruz, who now appears to have resumed his dominance after having once gone nearly 3 years in-between fights due to injuries.
