Could you imagine what a fight between Rory MacDonald and Nick Diaz would look like? These are two guys that just keep punching no matter how badly their faces have been bashed in. Throw in that Rory rag-dolled Nick’s brother Nate at UFC 129 on way to a decision victory, and a fight between Nick and Rory could be pretty entertaining.
This would have fight-of-the-year potential, and would also possibly earn the winner a Welterweight title shot, though they would have to wait for the winner of Lawler vs. Woodley to meet Stephen Thompson first.
The other possible monkey wrench in these plans is the possibility of Rory MacDonald signing on with Bellator, as the two sides are rumoured to be talking.
