2. Arrest for Identity Theft
Earlier this year Edmond Tarverdyan had his licence to corner fighters taken away in California as a result of his failure to disclose a previous arrest.
The athletic commission in California requires cornermen to fill out various documents, one of which asks about previous criminal records. There is nothing that says a cornerman can’t have a criminal record, but they aren’t allowed to lie on their forms. Edmond lied and as a result had his licence revoked in the state.
Tarverdyan was arrested in 2010 on 2 counts of identify theft and 1 count of resisting arrest. He pleaded no contest, served 1 day in jail, and was sentenced to 3 months probation.
Whose identity he stole is still a mystery, although some believe the man’s name was…Edmond Tarverdyan.
