3. Change of Strategy

We might see a change of strategy coming from the Diaz camp for the next bout, though not necessarily. Remember Diaz, his fans, and camp believe he won the last fight but was robbed by the judges. Now their camp is probably of the belief that no matter what they do the judge’s will always award the fight to Conor if it goes to a decision. That means Nate is going to fight for a finish, which he always does, but this time he might decide working for a submission is going to be easier than striking with Conor.

It’s possible Nate and the team at Cesar Gracie might decide to make taking the fight to the ground more of a priority this time around. If Nate is able to turn this into a grappling contest, Conor won’t have a chance, just like he didn’t when the fight went to the ground at UFC 196.
