Rousey Needs To Get Over That Mental Hump
Getting brutally stopped is one thing, shaking off the physical and mental effects of a knockout is a completely different thing. Rousey wasn’t just finished by Holly Holm at UFC 193. She was dominated, and bullied around for the entire bout.
It’s hard to erase how Rousey got stopped on that fateful evening. Right hand, head kick, hammer fists – and that’s all she wrote.
Rousey was out like a light and it took her quite some time to make it back up to her feet. The biggest mistake Rousey made was she tried to outbox a boxer. She got sucked into Holm’s game by her own pride and it ended up backfiring.
No matter how confident a fighter may seem on the outside, deep down inside there will be doubts. Any fighter coming off a devastating knockout loss like the one Rousey suffered will certainly be battling demons.
The problem is, those demons can only be faced in the cage. If Rousey can’t get over that mental hump, she won’t be able to handle Nunes who is known as a striker.
