5. Rumble Johnson vs. Glover Teixeira
It’s still unclear if we will ever get an Anthony “Rumble” Johnson vs. Jon Jones fight, but he’s got a very tough fight scheduled at 202 against Glover Teixiera. After losing to Daniel Cormier at UFC 187, Johnson has defeated both Jimi Manuwa and Ryan Bader, another win here and he might get another shot at the championship.
As for Teixeira, he was knocked out of title contention in 2014 after losing in a title fight to Jon Jones, and then dropping his next fight to Phil Davis. Since then he’s won 3 straight, including his 1st round knockout of Rashad Evans back in April. A win here and Teixeira will have earned another title shot, unless Jon Jones only gets a 6-month suspension.
The light heavyweight division continues on without Jon Jones. For how long the division is without it’s top fighter is unclear, but for the moment he’s out of the rankings and out of the title picture.
