War Machine
On August 8th 2014, the former Jon Koppenhaver assaulted girlfriend Christy Mack and associate Corey Thomas. Mack’s injuries were severe. She suffered several broken bones, a ruptured liver, cracked teeth, broken rib and was said to be unrecognizable for several days after.
He was convicted on 29 assault, kidnapping and sexual assault based charges. He wasn’t convicted of attempted murder however. War Machine has yet to be sentenced, but faces life in prison.
War Machine was involved in a bloody fight of the night on his season of TUF’s finale. He beat Jared Rollins (whose never fought again) in a bout that earned fight of the night. Koppenhaver lost his next bout though and was then released after reportedly getting all choosy with which fight he was offered.
In 2013, he went 2W-1L in Bellator, making it to the semi-finals of their welterweight tournament.
