#5 Took Jose Aldo Out Mentally Without Even Laying a Finger on Him
Before McGregor even stepped foot inside the cage with Jose Aldo, he had the former pound-for-pound king virtually beat.
McGregor got under Aldo’s skin like no other, and it took the Brazilian out of the fight completely before it even started.
He even quipped about killing off Aldo’s beloved people, the helpless who couldn’t fend for themselves.
“I own this town. I own Rio de Janeiro. So for him to say he is the king and I am the joker, if this was a different time, I would invade his favela on horseback and kill anyone that was not fit to work,” said McGregor.
Like a true Irish conqueror, McGregor rode into UFC 194 and laid waste to the king like he said he would. His charisma and mental assault on Aldo was so effective, he even had Brazilians cheering for him in Brazil.
It didn’t sit well with Aldo one bit, and the result was a Jose Aldo that threw strategy out the window and just wanted a piece of Mystic Mac — which turned out to be a big mistake.
