Two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather have taken their public feud to the next level. While McGregor has recently appeared in interviews belittling Mayweather’s fighting skills, Mayweather has since taken the time to respond.
Just recently, Mayweather posted a video of himself claiming that if he ever came across McGregor on the street, that he would slap the Irishman.
Now, Mayweather has taken to Instagram to put a new spin on things.
Mayweather and McGregor Continue To Trade Barbs
Mayweather posted on Instagram earlier today that he was running a “Caption This” contest. The Las Vegas resident is prepared to part with $10,000 dollars which will be given to the winner.
What exactly did Mayweather post? Well, it’s a video of McGregor getting his butt kicked by Nate Diaz in their first encounter. The video shows Diaz pummeling McGregor from mount before finishing him off with a rear naked choke.
“CAPTION THIS! Best caption wins $10,000.00 The winner will be announced on Monday, Dec. 19. Stay tuned ! #TMT,” the post read.
Within three hours, the post already has over 70,000 comments and a whopping 1-million views.

McGregor and Mayweather are Heavily Promoting Their Public Feud. Could A Fight Be In The Works?
Ever since hype of a possible cross-sport superfight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor first came to light, barbs have come from each of their camps. McGregor has appeared numerous times in the media calling Mayweather out. Mayweather has largely done the same.
Mayweather is of course boxing’s biggest star and widely considered one of the greatest boxers to ever do it. He has a pristine 49-0 professional boxing record. Although he retired in 2015, many believe the itch to go for 50-0 is too strong.
Nearly every fan and observer who has followed combat sports knows that a Mayweather-McGregor superfight would be epic. It would shatter pretty much every financial record there is in sports and in pay-per-view.
