Floyd Mayweather Has Warned Khabib Nurmagamedov That it Would be Crazy Not to Take The Threat of Conor McGregor Seriously…

It’s the biggest topic in combat sports right now: Conor McGregor v Khabib Nurmagamedov. The two men are set to fight on October 6, and finally put an end to what has become a toxic rivalry. Every fighter worth their salt has an opinion on this fight – including McGregor’s boxing adversary Floyd Mayweather.

Mayweather is arguably the greatest boxer of the 21st century, and possibly the most accomplished defensive fighter of all time. With an incredible record of 50-0, he proved to be untouchable throughout a glorious and glittering career.

Of course, the 50th win came as a result of beating McGregor convincingly in August 2017. However, contrary to many people’s expectations, Mayweather has sent a stark warning to Khabib Nurmagamedov. He warned the Russian fighter not to underestimate McGregor, who he believes will be putting his all into this fight.

Dedicated

Mayweather warned Khabib that McGregor is going to take this fight seriously because that’s the sort man the Irishman is. It’s not all about the money; ‘The Notorious’ is here to compete. The former boxer said:

“Conor’s not gonna back down and he’s not a scared fighter at all, win, lose or draw. Conor gonna come to fight. I know that UFC got a training facility but we’d like for him to work out at the Mayweather Boxing Club.”

Unclear

‘Money’ stopped short of offering a prediction for the fight, simply because he doesn’t know enough about Khabib and his fighting style to offer an educated opinion. It’s a classic match-up of grappler v striker, and in most people’s eyes, it’s anyone’s game. He told TMZ:

“I don’t really have a prediction because I’ve never seen the guy fight that facing Conor McGregor – from what I know he’s a hell of a guy that’s on the ground – hell of a grappler – and he can wrestle.

But, the fans want to see you stand up and fight. That’s what the fans like to see. But, Conor McGregor, he’s a tough competitor, like I said before Conor McGregor’s not gonna back down from anyone, he’s not scared, he’s a warrior.”

Iconic

Only yesterday, McGregor reflected on what could become an iconic fight between him and Mayweather. He earned a cool $100 million against the American legend (who made $200 million). Now he’s the highest earning active combats sports athlete in the world and has paved the way for MMA fighters to push beyond the boundaries set by the UFC. He wrote:

“1 year ago today I adhered to a load of rules, for a load of riches. Not today though. Today was no rules. Just a fight. A proper one. For nothing more than peace, and peace of mind.”

Even if he loses to Khabib, he’s already won.
