Conor McGregor’s Coach John Kavanagh Has Made the News After Punching an Annoying Comedian and Battering Him With His Own Prosthetic Leg…
This is one of the strangest videos you’ll ever watch that involves John Kavanagh. Conor McGregor’s head coach, and the general manager of SBG Ireland, which has MMA and BJJ gyms all across the country, is coming in for criticism after an incident with a comedian at Cat’s Laugh’s Comedy Festival in Kilkenny, Ireland yesterday.
Kavanagh was attending Adam Hill’s gig at the festival. A well known Australian comedian and TV personality, Hills is also famously disabled, a fact that he makes jokes out of in his shows. He is currently based in Ireland.
In a bizarre video, Hills winds up Kavanagh, before inviting him up onto the stage. A clearly, impatient Kavanagh reacts violently, with cheers from the audience. Real or fake? What do you think?

Wind-Up?
Basically, Kavanagh is sitting in the audience at the gig, minding his own business. Suddenly he’s asked by Hills what he does. Standard enough at a comedy gig – never make eye contact if you want to stay safe. Kavanagh responds: “I’m Conor’s coach.”
Undeterred, Hills keeps pushing. He says, “Conor who?” Of course, that’s a little bit like asking who Gandhi is now. Kavanagh is clearly forcing a smile on his face. Then he says “Prove it. Prove you’re Conor’s coach.”
Kavanagh strides onto the stage, stands in front of Hills and then swings a punch into his gut. Now it does look like it was pulled, and Hills goes down dramatically like a sack of potatoes. Then – in WWE Style – Kavanagh hits Hills with his own prosthetic leg multiple times. The audience laps it up.
Times we live in no doubt videos going up. What you won't see is the lead up and him in my face for half an hour. Probably shouldn't have done it but most don't experience this type of aggression on a daily experience.

Response
John Kavanagh is Ireland’s first ever Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. He’s also considered a gentleman by basically everyone who has ever had any dealings with him. Only last week he started off a series of free self-defense classes for women in SBG Dublin, in response to a vicious murder the previous week in the city.
Basically, he’s not the kind of guy you’d expect to go around battering comedians with their own prosthetic legs. Maybe his star pupil Conor McGregor would, but not Kavanagh. He prefers to sit back and let others take the spotlight. However, he insists it was real, as he tweeted:
“Time we live in, no doubt videos are going up. What you won’t see is the lead up and him in my face for half an hour. Probably shouldn’t have done it but most don’t experience this type of aggression on a daily basis.”

Say What?
So was it real or not? That’s the question everyone is trying to figure out. Hills’ own response suggested that there was a darker side to the story. He tweeted himself:
“Genuinely sore from a @JohnKavanagh punch on stage tonight. I may have been out of line but there was no need for his reaction.”
There are two possibilities here. The first is that it was completely staged and that the pair is just trolling the internet and having a few bottles of beer now, while they laugh about the stupidity of the world. The second is that Kavanagh really was annoyed and really did hit him. What do you think?
