Anderson Silva (1-1-0)
Before “The Spider” became one of the greatest mixed martial artists to ever do it, he experienced life inside the boxing ring. Silva considers himself a true martial artist, and as such has trained in various fight disciplines.
Just a few years ago, before the world even knew about Conor McGregor, it was Silva who wanted to fight a legendary boxing champion in Roy Jones Jr.
Silva got knocked out by Chris Weidman then experienced that horrific leg injury, so that bout was scrapped. Still, Silva showed some pretty good boxing skills early in his career.
He fought twice as a pro boxer, losing a technical decision in 1998 while winning by knockout years later in 2005.
As you can see in the clip above, Silva was pretty good at throwing hands. He was pretty nimble on his feet too. His height and length also gave opponents fits as they struggled to close the distance against the Brazilian.
Being a pro boxer just wasn’t in the cards for Silva however, as he instead went down as one of the best MMA fighters in history.
