GSP isn’t playing around; he’s looking ready to beat Bisping this Saturday…

Former welterweight champion, Georges St. Pierre, released a strange video through social media recently. The video seeks to re-create the first-person experience of taking on GSP in an MMA cage. For some reason, the video fails to simulate the experience of being taken down for five rounds straight by Georges like a typical GSP fight goes, however.

While the post was rather bizarre, it did showcase that GSP is looking ripped ahead of his title fight with Michael Bisping at UFC 217.

Will GSP Defeat Michael Bisping at UFC 217?

Most MMA oddsmakers have this as a pick’em fight though some are giving GSP a slight edge. There are just too many variables at play to be able to accurately predict this fight.

Will GSP fall victim to ring rust? How will he deal with the size difference? Will Bisping be able to prevent Georges from taking him down? We won’t have answers to any of these questions until after their main event clash out of Madison Square Garden Saturday night.

GSP Looking To Finish Bisping?

Much of what happens at UFC 217 could come down to the strategy each fighter comes into the cage with. While history states GSP will go for takedowns and Bisping will look to counter-punch, there is no guarantee that will be what happens. In fact, some of Georges’ trainers are now stating they will be looking for the finish. Finishing opponents

In fact, some of Georges’ trainers are now stating he will be looking for the finish. Finishing opponents hasn’t exactly been GSP’s forte over the years, with the last time he was able to do so coming at UFC 94 in early 2009.

Grappling and jiu-jitsu expert, Garry Tonon, has been helping GSP in his camp and had this to say regarding the possibility of him finishing Bisping:

“There’s definitely a good chance that you see GSP submit Bisping, for sure,” Tonon told MMA Fighting. “I don’t want to lead you into our plans and our strategies for the fight, I can’t give those details away, but is he capable of submitting Bisping? Absolutely. I’ll put it this way he’s far more capable of submitting Bisping than Bisping submitting Georges.”

Georges St. Pierre Ripped and Looking To Beat Bisping

Judging by how he looks in the above video, GSP has not taken this camp lightly. After nearly four years away from the octagon nobody could be blamed for thinking GSP might be coming back for a paycheck more than anything else, but that does not appear to be the case.

Also on the line in this fight is the record for most UFC wins. Michael Bisping is the all-time leader in UFC wins with 20, having passed GSP’s 19 on the list with his win over Dan Henderson. GSP could tie the record he once held with a win on Saturday.
