All-Time-Great UFC Fighter Georges St. Pierre Decided to Clarify Once and For All What Happened Before He Defeated Nick Diaz…

Many UFC fans believe that Georges St. Pierre is the greatest fighter to ever step into an octagon. He’s definitely the top welterweight of all time, and a certainty to become a UFC Hall-of-Famer once he eventually hangs up his gloves for good. One of the most striking things about St. Pierre is his attitude. He’s a martial artist, not a street fighter.

The Canadian came out of a 4-year hiatus last November to snatch the middleweight title away from Michael Bisping. Since then, his stock has risen in everyone’s eyes – except for the Diaz brothers.

After being linked to a fight against Nate Diaz, the brothers both furiously condemned St. Pierre for allegedly poisoning Nick in the run-up to their 2013 fight. ‘Rush’ decided to respond to these claims. Speaking on Joe Rogan’s MMA Show, he admitted to the evil deed. Of course, he wasn’t being serious.

Allegations

Nick Diaz and Georges St. Pierre have a rivalry going back to 2013 when they fought in Montreal at UFC 158. The Canadian fighter won by unanimous decision, successfully defending his title. Insanely, Diaz claimed that St. Pierre’s people poisoned his IV. He said:

“I have 37 fights, been fighting for 17 years, I never slept more than five or six hours a night. (For that fight), I slept 14 hours, I’m like ‘what did you put in my IV, dude? I never had nothing but clear IV. And there was something wrong with his wraps.”

Sounds like someone is trying to make excuses. The older Diaz hasn’t fought in the octagon since 2015 when he lost to Anderson Silva. That fight was overturned to a no-contest after Silva tested positive for PEDs, while Diaz had marijuana in his system.

Ridiculous

St. Pierre responded to the allegations as you might expect. He totally laughed them off. He told Joe Rogan:

“I gotta confess. I was so scared, so, we tried to poison…I was so scared of fighting Nick Diaz, we poisoned his IV. But he survived! So I was even more terrified! So, all the athletic commission was on my payroll, they tricked the weigh-in and I made it. And it went through. So I was even more terrified.

So…the aliens abducted me, and they put the gamma rays in me to increase my strength like The Hulk. Like a performance-enhancing drug. And the fight was still happening! So right before, I put some glass and cement in my gloves, just to make sure. And still, I had a crazy hard fight.”

Bully

So that clears that up. Also, don’t get excited by the idea of St. Pierre fighting Nate at 155lbs. It’s not going to happen. Why? Because ‘Rush’ doesn’t want to look like a bully. He said:

“A lot of lightweight guys are bigger than me right now. He’s about the same size as me, but because I compete at 170 for most of my career, it will make me look bad. It will make me look like a bully. And this is if I win decisively.”

Legacy matters more than money to St. Pierre right now, unless we’re talking insane figures obviously. Beating Nate Diaz won’t do anything to enhance his already incredible status. Will he return to the UFC again? What do you think?
