This, and more speculation after the huge UFC 200 news last night
So UFC 200 got the headlining act announced last night, and it’s the fight we’d all expected to hear. Not everybody will be happy with the news, as Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz rematch as the UFC 200 main event.
The reason why so many may be dismayed by this announcement is that the bout will take place at welterweight. The featherweight title remains in limbo, although the UFC did also announce the next move for the 145-pound division.
Yes Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo will go at it again, in a rematch of their UFC 156 war, but for the interim featherweight title. For the second time in six months, a junior belt has been made basically to allow McGregor to do what he wants.
This has caused a bit of an uproar from many well known faces in the mixed martial arts community. UFC light-heavyweight title contender Anthony Johnson was confused by the news of Edgar vs. Aldo 2:
Interim title? I thought Frankie Edgar worked his butt off for a Real title shot…This is crazy to me!

With all this crazy news, there are a couple of huge factors being overlooked. UFC presidnet Dana White added to the speculation earlier, and the result has caused rumours to spread like wildfire about a number of hug potential UFC 200 fights.
