5. Promoting “Blade the Series”
Goldberg: “Don’t forget Blade: the Series premiering tonight right here on Spike following Ultimate Fight Night; a combination of action, gore, and creepiness with a nice dose of vampire sexuality, not to mention the best action production television on TV. Blade: the Series right here on Spike.”
Rogan: “What exactly is a ‘nice dose of vampire sexuality’?”
Goldberg: “It’s a card they gave me to read, that’s exactly what it is.”
Like a good employee, Mike Goldberg was just trying to promote a TV series that would be airing on Spike, the same channel that first put the UFC on cable television. He seemed like he was putting the same kind of passion into it that he does for fights, up until Joe Rogan called him out for something he said.
Perhaps Rogan was just upset that his one-time rumoured opponent, Wesley Snipes, was not involved in the series. Regardless, Blade would only last one season, whereas Goldberg would last about 10 more years.
Hahah, gotta love “Goldie”
