Former two-division champion and Olympic gold medalist, Henry Cejudo is interested in making a UFC return but not just any return, he wants to face current featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski. There are a lot of fighters that have won belts in two divisions but no other fighter has won three, so if Cejudo does somehow beat Volkanovksi, it will be in the record books.

In terms of the timeline, booking a Cejudo vs Volkanovksi is actually the right time. No contender deserves to fight for the title right now, other than Holloway and he is booked against Yair Rodriguez. If Volkanovski wants to stay active, facing Cejudo is one of the best options right now.
Henry Cejudo has been the underdog in his title shot to becoming “Triple C”. He was the underdog facing Demetrious Johnson, TJ Dillashaw, and even Marlon Moraes, yet he somehow beat the odds and end up winning. Winning belts in two different divisions is a great feat and to top it all off, he is a gold medalist in the Olympics. Cejudo might possibly be the greatest combat athlete in terms of achievements.
Let me make history @danawhite!! 🥇🏆🏆🏆
Facts are facts 💯
Thanks for the time @espnmma @marc_raimondi, but I have A LOT more to say. Tomorrow, I set the record straight once and for all on a BRAND NEW episode of The Triple C & Schmo Show. Your future featherweight champ, CCC👑 pic.twitter.com/GOGelLG4qe— Henry Cejudo (@HenryCejudo) October 5, 2021
Not only that but the guys that he has beaten are some of the best fighters in UFC history. Demetrious Johnson, we all know is an all-time great in not just the division but in MMA sport in general. TJ Dillashaw and Dominick Cruz are considered the best bantamweights of all time, and he knocked out both of them.
Now, he is on the quest from being “Triple C” to “C4” if he beats Volkanovski for the title. The question is will the UFC make it happen? They are creating a risk if they book it, maybe because Cejudo might demand bigger pay, and what happens if Cejudo wins the belt. Will Cejudo vacate it if he wins the belt after, just like George St Pierre?
Cejudo has been calling Volkanovski out since he was still active in the UFC. Mainly because of the matchup, Volkanovski is a short featherweight which makes it easier for Cejudo to fight against. Had it been Holloway or Ortega, the height difference might have been too much that it would be hard to close the distance.
Volkanvoski has also been beating great featherweights like Jose Aldo, Max Holloway, Chad Mendes, and now Brian Ortega. Now is the best time to make a super fight against Cejudo, champion vs champion.
