Kevin Lee was originally scheduled to face Sean Brady but due to a foot injury, Lee is in need of another opponent. Although Lee’s fight with Brady was also rescheduled the first time because of an injury Lee suffered. The fight was supposedly booked for the August 28 fight night event.

Kevin Lee is now trying his best to find another opponent, one of those was the ever charismatic Mike Perry. Many would be confused as to why Lee called out Perry who is coming off a back-to-back loss. Mike Perry is also unranked, so a win over Perry could potentially not put him in the top 15 rankings. Yes, fans will tune in and watch but in terms of rankings, Lee would not benefit a lot.

One other fighter that Lee called out is the #9 ranked Belal Muhammad, who is coming off an impressive win against Demian Maia. Lee wanted Muhammad to fight on the same date August 28, to which he declined but was willing to fight on a later date which is UFC 266. The event would be held on September 25.

It will be a great fight for both fighters and an interesting matchup. Lee is also returning to the welterweight division, his last welterweight fight was against Rafael Dos Anjos where he lost via submission. He then decided to move down and had that jaw-dropping knockout win against Gregor Gillespie. Lee then had an unfortunate loss against Charles Oliveira who eventually became the UFC lightweight champion.

Lee is considered big for the lightweight division. One of his main issues is his cardio in the later rounds. It might be due to his massive weight cut or it is just his conditioning issue. He is also well-rounded in terms of his wrestling and striking.
