Once again the MMA world is fixated on Conor McGregor. The UFC featherweight champion is set to headline UFC 205 in the biggest fight of his career. Lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez will hope to rain on McGregor’s parade.
Causing controversy after the announcement, it was revealed McGregor would not be stripped of his featherweight title. The decision caused heated debates across the forums, but the Irishman remained defiant in the face of criticism.
More Controversy
Months ago we saw a video that allegedly showed Conor McGregor ‘under the influence’ at a party. ‘The Notorious’ was speaking with a bit of a slur as he chatted up a pretty blonde lady, but today’s story is a little more intriguing.
Take a look at the following image. It was posted to Conor McGregor’s Instagram account a few hours ago. It appears to show McGregor smoking on something while at a party. Judge for yourself.
Puffing The Herb?
As we know, Marijuana is a banned in-competition drug. This is a controversial picture for sure, but bear in mind that McGregor is technically out of competition right now. Either way, it’s certainly something to debate.
Should Marijuana be legal in sports, if not the world over? It’s not like anyone is getting hulked up on Weed like they do on steroids, so why is there so much bother about it?
Weed in Sports
The Diaz brothers Nick and Nate are massive advocates for legalizing Marijuana. UFC commentator Joe Rogan is a huge smoker of Weed. Many fighters and UFC staff will admit that nearly everyone they know smoked pot occasionally.
The some what archaic rules about dope in sports, not the anabolic kind, perhaps need to change. Maybe McGregor can use his drawing power to help legalize it? Who knows, thanks for stopping by and reading!
