Dan Ige is clueless about who’s going to replace former opponent Lerone Murphy, who withdrew from their UFC Fight Night 236 bout.

Ige is left without an opponent in his match on February 10 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. According to an initial report from Violent Money TV, Murphy had to exit the lineup of the event due to an injury. The bout of the two is still included in UFC’s official lineup, but a source already corroborated the claim.

Unfortunately for Ige, it is unknown if his fight will be scratched from the lineup or if the promotion will look for a replacement for Murphy. “50K” appears determined to fight on the said date, given that his wife will give birth in March. As such, the fighter hopes to get his last fight pushed before welcoming his child. In his recent Instagram Stories, the American fighter suggested looking for a replacement himself, asking his followers and fellow fighters, “Who’s it gonna be?”

As for Murphy, it is currently unknown what particular injury affected him, but it will be a huge setback for the fighter’s 2024 plans. The event would have been his chance to extend his current five-fight winning streak in his UFC record, and his chances of doing it were high, given Ige’s recent loss to Bryce Mitchell. However, with the injury probably taking him some time to heal, this plan would have to wait.

We will update this story once UFC confirms the claim.
