Now this would be awesome!
The all out war of words between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz before UFC 196 was possibly the best in mixed martial arts history. Few expected anything else, but it was surprising how much noise they made in just 11 days.
‘The Notorious’ was meant to challenge for the lightweight title against Rafael dos Anjos, but when the Brazilian was injured Nate Diaz was drafted in with little time to train. As it turned out that didn’t really matter, as the Stockton bad boy submitted the Irish star inside two rounds.
Many assumed t was time for McGregor to go back to featherweight after his welterweight loss to Diaz. Of course the promotion saw dollar signs, and granted ‘The Notorious’ his wish of an immediate rematch at UFC 200.
Then came McGregor’s drama with the UFC, as he was pulled from the July 9 card for missing a press conference in California. After temporarily retiring, although still holding his belt, McGregor got himself involved in talks of a huge boxing match.

Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor opened the can of worms that they are apparently fighting on September 17th. FOX Sports radio host Colin Cowherd said the UFC was now in agreement for the bout, giving some credibility to the previously unfounded rumours.
Through all of this madness Nate Diaz has remained rather quiet, until now…
