This is beyond crazy…
UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor is never far from the headlines, but the last month has seen ‘The Notorious’ take more headlines than any mixed martial artist before him.
The Irish sensation got on the wrong side of the UFC when he failed to attend a press conference, and things just spiralled out of control from that moment onwards. Beef with Dana White and the Fertitta brothers turned out to be a bad idea for McGregor.
Dumped from his UFC 200 rematch with Nate Diaz, who had choked him out at UFC 196, McGregor went from a poster boy to a semi-retired contrast of his former self. Social media rants came thick and fast, with many believing the Irishman would be stripped of his title.
Then the whole Floyd Mayweather saga started again. He’d been involved in some ‘beef with the boxing great at the tail end of 2015, but now they were heavily rumoured to be bong each other.
As recently as yesterday reports from legitimate sources suggested Mayweather vs. McGregor will be happening in September.
But this latest report blows the whole thing wide open…
