UFC president Dana White made some pretty interesting comments about Nate Diaz this week. Responding in brutal fashion, Diaz puts White in his place with an amazing video…
Ever the promotional wild child, Nate Diaz has been sitting inactive for nearly 18 months now. Following a breakthrough submission win over Conor McGregor at UFC 196, Diaz made a monster payday at UFC 202.
Although he lost the rematch, the event shattered pay-per-view numbers. Since that August 2016 war, Diaz has been fighting a battle of a different kind. Demanding an even bigger payday for his return, Nate finds himself in a long-lasting standoff with his employers.
Unlike McGregor, Diaz apparently doesn’t have the sway to have the hefty demands met by the UFC. As a result, the promotion has been unable to get one of their biggest stars back in the octagon.
Most recently, Diaz was linked to a welterweight title fight with Tyron Woodley. ‘The Chosen One’ confirmed negotiations had fallen apart this week.
Dana Says Diaz Has Turned Down Everyone
During a media lunch this week, White made some bold claims about Diaz. Not only this, DW said the fight with Woodley on December 30 was never even on the table:
“turned down a fight with everybody on the roster. For a year and a half, we’ve been offering him fights… We continuously offer him fights and he continuously turns them down.”
Obviously, Dana White never lies (derp), but there’s an element of mistruth here; is it a case of Diaz turning down the fight if the UFC isn’t meeting his request in terms of money?
Nate Diaz’s Instagram response to “Bitch” Dana White is pretty much incredible:

You’ll remember Diaz talking about this same situation months ago. Putting the ball in their court, Diaz says the UFC is the reason for his absence as they keep failing to offer him a fair amount of dollars:
“He’s making stuff up because that’s what he needs to do. He’s trying to get me to argue with him, but there’s no argument necessary. It’s cool. If I’m not worth sh*t, why am I all over the news with people trying to figure out what’s what when I’m not fighting?”
“I just think about, I’m not turning down any fight ever. They might be turning down the deal. So it’s on them. It’s not in my hands because I’ll fight when you pay.” Via ESPN

“They’re trying to pressure me to fight Tony Ferguson, but what the f*ck, I’m going to cover for Conor McGregor and do his work while he’s out making f*cking millions of dollars fighting boxers and sh-t? I’m not covering for you, bro. You guys fight each other.”
“I heard Tony’s manager talking, saying that I need to get a fire up under Conor McGregor’s ass if I want to fight him for the third time. Like, I gotta’ do what? You guys should fight each other, motherf*cker. You guys have the same manager. You guys are working together against me. You guys need me to do the work for you? F*ck off. I ain’t asking for no money fights because you know what? I am the money fight.” BJPenn.com
