The UFC 218 weigh-ins went down in Detroit, Michigan today. Among those fighters hitting the scale were Max Holloway, Jose Aldo, Francis Ngannou and more…
Taking place at Little Caesar’s Arena in Detroit, Michigan, UFC 218 is stacked with some serious talent. Headlining the event is a featherweight title rematch between Max Holloway and ex-longtime champion Jose Aldo.
Having finished Aldo with strikes in their first meeting at UFC 212, ‘Blessed’ will look to make it 2-0 against his Brazilian rival. Heavy hitting 265-pounders Alistair Overeem and Francis Ngannou square off in the co-main event.
Just a few years ago, Ngannou was homeless and broke, making his fight against long-serving MMA and K-1 veteran ‘Reem’ quite intriguing. Can Overeem use his wile and experience to keep ‘The Predator’ from touching that chin?
The early weigh-ins took place just moments ago and looking noticeably like sh*t were the featherweight title competitors. Here’s how Holloway looked, then check out Aldo and the weigh-in results further down:

BRAAAAIIIINS!
There’s no doubt the UFC needs to adopt more weight classes for their fighters. Another dramatic moment for the ex-champ today, as he initially missed the featherweight title limit.
Thankfully after the shorts came, Aldo managed to hit 145:

Ngannou weighed in far higher than previously in his UFC career. Reaching a whopping 15 pounds heavier than his opponent Overeem, ‘The Predator’ upped his previous weight by nine pounds.
And he looks terrifying:

Predictions
Regarding Ngannou vs. Overeem, the Dutchman’s somewhat suspect chin plays a massive role. Yes, he is a striking wizard with great power, but Ngannou is hungry and one of the scariest strikers among current heavyweight prospects.
With Holloway and Aldo, I can’t see much changing since their last fight. ‘Scarface,’ as incredible as his initial title run was, has seen his prime. I like ‘Blessed’ for another TKO win.
