If Conor McGregor is worried about the threats on his life, he’s not showing it….

Conor McGregor appeared in a Dublin court today to plead guilty to a speeding ticket. He was fined for the driving infraction but according to the Irish media, he’s got far bigger problems to worry about.

Conor is believed to have been involved in a brawl with members of an Irish cartel. Yesterday, veteran Irish crime reporter, Paul Williams, stated he believes Conor’s life is in serious jeopardy, especially if he continues to remain in Ireland.

Williams had this to say on the matter:

I have to say about this, and I’m wearing my old, veteran crime reporter hat. Conor McGregor is in a very dangerous place at the moment. He has come into conflict through probably no fault of his own, with a group of very, very dangerous people who are tied up with the Kinahans. These people do not care who Conor McGregor is, what he stands for, how powerful he is, they will drag him down into the cesspit.

$900K Bounty on Conor’s Head

Yesterday on Joe Rogan’s MMA podcast, Brendan Schaub stated he has heard from people in Ireland that there is a hit out on Conor.

“People that I know in Dublin, and are blowing me up are saying, it’s real and Conor is in a bit of trouble…They’re saying there’s a hit out on Conor for 900 grand.”

How solid Brendan Schaub’s contacts in Ireland are is up for some debate, however.

Not Safe For Conor in Ireland

Williams speculated yesterday that Conor may have left the country. Today, however, news that Conor appeared in a Dublin court confirmed he has not left Ireland.

Williams had this to say regarding Conor’s safety while still in the country.

I would say, in the next 48 hours, if he still in the country – and I understand that he may have left the country – but if he is still in the country, I understand from my sources that the Garda will be approaching him to give him a GIM form, which is a Garda Information Message, to tell him that there may be threats to his safety. This is a huge story, and imagine what it would do to our reputation if this national sporting icon is attacked by a bunch of gangsters.

Conor Issues a Challenge to the Irish Cartel

Reporters outside the courtroom were naturally more interested in this ongoing saga than Conor’s speeding ticket. When asked to comment on the story, Conor issued a challenge to the gangsters supposedly after him:

“Come and Get Me!”

There are those speculating that this is somehow a publicity stunt. While Conor might be eccentric, many doubt he would get himself into this type of trouble.

Reporters spoke with Conor’s father, Tony McGregor, yesterday and he expressed his belief that the stories are not true.

“That’s all nonsense, that is. Absolute nonsense. It’s an absolute nonsense story.

“It’s grown legs and it’s getting that ridiculous – it’s become funny. We have nothing to fear here whatsoever. There’s no one after us for anything.

“We’re a law-abiding family and we’ve stayed a law-abiding family.”
