UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has been the centre of the MMA world again this last week, only this time in a very different light. Just over a week ago ‘The Notorious’ sent the mixed martial arts media in to a frenzy with his shocking retirement Tweet.

But the madness didn’t stop there, as we were only seeing the tip of the iceberg at this point. As the story became more clear, it was obvious that McGregor’s retirement Tweet was more of a protest than the closing of his career.

It wasn’t long before UFC president Dana White revealed the rest of the story, claiming Conor had refused to attend the first week of media obligations for his UFC 200 rematch with Nate Diaz.

Diaz had first fought and submitted McGregor at UFC 196 in welterweight fight, and the Irish striker had asked for the rematch at 170 pounds again. It seemed the timing of the press responsibilities in America and McGregor starting his camp in Iceland just clashed.

But McGregor’s announcement that he was back on the UFC 200 card didn’t last long either, as UFC president Dana White blew any remaining hope to pieces.

Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier’s rematch was announced as the new UFC 200 main event, and now McGregor has reacted on Twitter once again…
