Nick Diaz has been at it again. The UFC welterweight star hasn’t fought since January of 2015. Following a controversial failed drug test the NSAC could never actually prove, Diaz was handed a five-year ban.
After protests from the mixed martial arts community went viral the ban was shortened. Diaz ended up serving an 18-month suspension. It wasn’t long before he landed himself and his crew in hot water though.
Nick Diaz and the rest of the 209 clan were banned from the media shows following the UFC 202 presser. The infamous incident saw younger brother Nate and Nick Diaz launching bottles at Conor McGregor.
As a result Nick was banned from attending the weigh-ins. He was also barred from cornering Nate Diaz in his UFC 202 rematch with Conor McGregor. The Commission said if Nick paid the rest of his $75,000 fine he could attend and corner Nate.
Diaz’s ban ended on August 1, and he’s been linked to a few big fights since then. Nothing has been made official just yet. You’d think now would be the time for Nick Diaz to keep his nose clean.
