Update: ONE Championship has already confirmed the fight, which will be held at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

A new fight between Nong-O Hama and Nico Carrillo will reportedly be added to ONE Championship’s ONE Friday Fights 46 event in Bangkok on December 22.

According to sources in the South China Morning Post report, the bout between Nong-O and Carrillo could be a title eliminator. This will be an interesting fight given the Thai fighter is a former ONE Championship bantamweight Muay Thai champ, while the Scottish fighter is considered a rising star in the division.

Carrillo is currently making a remarkable impression on ONE Championship after defeating Thailand’s Muangthai PK Saenchai and Turkey’s Furkan Karabag in June and April, respectively. Both bouts ended with a TKO win for Carrillo, allowing him to bag a US$100,000 ONE Championship contract. He is also currently the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai Top 5 fighter. If Carrillo wins this fight, this could be his ticket to fighting reigning ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai champ Jonathan Haggerty.

The fight could also lead Nong-O to face Haggerty for the second time after the Briton took the belt from him in April through a KO win during the first round of their fight in Bangkok. The two were supposed to have a rematch, but the Thai suffered extreme symptoms of dengue fever. With this, ONE instead booked the Fabricio Andrade-Jonathan Haggerty fight.

The two fighters will join the three bouts already set for the event, including the fights between Tawanchai PK Saenchai and Superbon Singha Mawynn (featherweight Muay Thai title), Phetjeeja Ormeekhun and Anissa Meksen (interim atomweight kickboxing title), and Joseph Lasiri and Prajanchai PK Saencahi (strawweight Muay Thai title).
