1. Jose Canseco vs Hong Man Choi
2009’s “Super Hulk Grand Prix” was the Dream promotion’s way of organizing a tournament similar to the one’s formerly run by Pride FC. The first round consisted of a couple of freak show fights, featuring Bob Sapp and others, as well as this fight between Jose Canseco and Hong Man Choi.
Canseco, a famous former baseball player, has some training in martial arts, though limited. He has competed in celebrity boxing matches, and amateur kickboxing bouts, but nothing like this. In fact nobody has ever competed in something like this.
Hong Man Choi is a 7ft 2in fighter, who was 1W-2L heading in this bout. Canseco didn’t stand a chance. The former Home Run champion was on the ground and submitting to strikes in just over a minute.
