Popular UFC welterweight Nick Diaz is reported to have a HUGE fight booked for #UFC209…
Ever since Nick Diaz was tearing up the regional circuit in the early 2000’s, he’s enjoyed a steadily growing following. After joining the UFC in 2003, Diaz became popular for his slick boxing and crazy ground game.
The former WEC and Strikeforce welterweight champion also competed in Pride FC, but it wasn’t until last year that he became a superstar. Oddly enough, it was his fight with the Nevada Commission that got Diaz in the mainstream.

UFC 183 Saga
Facing former middleweight champion Anderson Silva at UFC 183, Nick Diaz pulled off one of the greatest in-octagon moments ever. Literally lying down flat on the canvas in the middle of the fight, Diaz proved he is fiercely entertaining too.
Unfortunately the NAC decided to ban Diaz for five years after that fight, but there was more to come. Unable to prove he actually had failed a drug test after that fight, the Commission buckled under public pressure.
He’s Back!
Eventually reducing his sentence to 18 months, the NAC settled their differences with Nick Diaz last week. Now free to fight again and cleared of his debt to Nevada, fight offers have been coming in left and right for Diaz.
Last week welterweight champion Tyron Woodley called out Diaz for UFC 209, but now reports of a rematch with Robbie Lawler are circulating the web. Check out what MMA reporter Chris Taylor revealed on Twitter:
I jumped the gun with “headlining”.. Apparently Woodley vs. Thompson 2 is targeted to headline #UFC209, Diaz vs. Lawler 2 would be co-main.

Woodley vs. Wonderboy 2, Diaz vs. Lawler 2 For UFC 209
If true, this would make the upcoming UFC 209 card STACKED! Diaz defeated Lawler by KO (jab) way back at UFC 47 in 2004. After Lawler became champion, later losing the belt to Woodley, a rematch has been long anticipated.
KO’d by a right hook not a jab.
